Hi Elizaveta,
SAP HANA lifecycle management is made up out of two area's:
- Platform lifecycle management for installation, updating and configuring the SAP HANA platform.
- Application lifecycle management for managing content, products and transports.
So Platform LCM (= database LCM) is covering the system administrator tasks ans Application LCM is covering the developemt tasks.
The difference between the HDBLCM on the installation media and the resident HDBLCM is the following:
HDBLCM on the installation media allows you to:
- Install SAP HANA and components
- Update SAP HANA and components
Resident HDBLCM allows you to:
- Add additional hosts.
- Configure the inter-service communication.
- Configure the SLD connection.
- Rename a SAP HANA system.
- Uninstall SAP HANA and/or components.
- Unregister SAP HANA
- Install/update additional components.
Hope this helps to make it a bit more clear.
